"Marin" by Briana F.

Giovanna is my older cousin, a little wild, maybe a litttle too wild. Most of us admired her ability of thinking wisely. When a cute boy I liked was around she told me how to react and what to say. Either if it was to ignore him or give him "the look" or so she called it. "The look" was to blink and blow a kiss which most of us thought it was pretty clever. When passing a good looking guy either she ended up with a number or going on another date. At times i envied her beauty, on the other hand she had a lack of intelligence. Myself, on the other hand didn't have a problem with that, just of course not being able to talk to guys. At times she bragged about meeting a handsome man and moving out of her nightmare. As a child she was always abused, and with the thought of moving out one day made her feel as happy as ever. However when a boy passed her way they would utter "Ay mamacita" instead of enjoying the attention she would ignore it or say something dirty to them. At times i wanted to be her, but in reality, she would want to be me.

Funny how life works that way, the irony of wanting a life someone else has when in true words, they want yours. I like that, makes life more interesting, don't you think?
